GRAMERCY, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police have identified a man who jumped from the Veterans Memorial Bridge in St. James Parish into the Mississippi River as a suspect in three homicides in Jefferson Parish as well as other crimes in Baton Rouge.
The Advocate reports authorities continue to looking for 22-year-old Kylan M. Laurent of Vacherie after he stopped his car near the top of the northbound lane of the bridge shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday and jumped over the rail.
Troopers say authorities had been investigating Laurent's links to a number of criminal cases.
In one of those slayings, Laurent is "a person of interest" in the strangulation of 22-year-old Anita McDonald of Flowood, Miss. Her body was found Monday in a room at a Kenner motel.
