KEATCHIE, La. (AP) Authorities say a man accused in the stabbing deaths of his estranged wife and her sister has been transported to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Cpl. Dusty Herring of the DeSoto Parish sheriff's office says Stephen G. Rivers apparently stabbed himself three times in the torso with a pocketknife.

The Times reports Rivers was arrested before noon Sunday after an almost seven-hour manhunt. Rivers was being treated at LSU hospital in Shreveport. After he's released, Herring says he'll be booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center. A judge has signed an arrest warrant charging Rivers with first degree murder.
