LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Lake Charles police have arrested a man who they believe stabbed two women to death last week.
Deputy Chief of Police Mark Kraus says Monday night that 52-year-old Mark Wayne Thibodeaux was booked with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Kraus declined to release any further information about the charges or when Thibodeaux was arrested.
Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office Chief Investigator Zeb Johnson said an autopsy confirmed that the two women - 25-year-old Carla Ledoux and 50-year-old Bridgette Pryor - died of multiple stab wounds on Jan. 4.
Calcasieu Parish District Attorney John DeRosier said evidence at the scene suggested that the deaths might have been related to drug activity.
It was unclear whether Thibodeaux had an attorney.
