Tai Nguyen, the man deputies say locked himself inside his business started posting videos to his Facebook page just before 8 o'clock. That standoff is now over, and Nguyen is in custody. This all started as a hostage situation, but those hostages are safe.
Deputies entered through the front door, after an employee provided a key. When they tried taking him into custody, there was a struggle and Nguyen suffered minor injuries. No deputies were hurt, and Nguyen is being evaluated before being booked.
Deputies are not sure what exactly he will be charged with, as the investigation is still ongoing.
Just before 8 o'clock, at the Smoothie World near the intersection of Verot School Rd. and Pinhook, an employees there, called police saying their boss was acting erratic, and that he was armed with knives. Employees told police Nguyen left the scene still armed, and when deputies arrived he was no where to be found. Nguyen arrived back to the scene moments later, and when deputies tried making contact, he fled to the back of the store. He went through the back entrance, armed with three knives and locked the door. Minutes later, he released the employees inside, but the locked himself inside. But throughout the ordeal, he was posting to his Facebook page, including a video.
"This is what it is all about, saving our souls baby, the movement starts right now," said Nguyen in the video.
