ABBEVILLE, La. (AP) - A suspect wanted in a shooting death in Abbeville two months ago has been arrested in Virginia.
Authorities say 25-year-old Jamal Diggs was arrested Thursday in Newport News, Va. and charged with second-degree murder.
Diggs is accused in the shooting death of D'Jacquaney Mitchel on Dec. 10.
Police Chief Rick Coleman said the two men were involved in a verbal argument when Diggs pulled a gun and fired once, knocking Mitchel to the ground. Coleman said Diggs then stood over Mitchel's body and fired two more shots.
