Suspect arrested in slaying of woman

VILLE PLATTE, La. (AP) State police say a suspect in the May 11 death of 18-year-old Elizabeth Fontenot of Ville Platte has been arrested.
Trooper Stephen Hammons tells The Advocate that 34-year-old Ordesto M. Toussaint of Ville Platte was arrested Wednesday and booked with second-degree murder.
Hammons said Fontenot was beaten to death. He says a passing school bus driver found her body about 3 miles south of Ville Platte.
Authorities also discovered a burned green Mustang about 2 miles away. Officials say the vehicle was registered to Fontenot's mother.
It was not immediately known whether Toussaint has an attorney.
