The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with a May 15 home invasion and armed robbery.
Shane Pomier was Pomier was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on charges of home invasion, armed robbery, false imprisonment with a deadly weapon and attempted first degree murder.
The Sheriff's Office received a complaint May 15 from a victim who said two armed males broke into his home on Billeaux Road in Cankton. The suspects reportedly beat the victim and restrained his arms behind his back.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the victim heard the suspects say they were going to slit his throat. At that point, the victim broke free and ran to find help.
Three days later, the Sheriff's Office received a tip that Pomier was one of the suspects involved in the home invasion. The victim identified Pomier through a photo lineup.
Pomier was arrested with the help of the U.S. Marshal's Office and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.
His bond has been set at $500,000.
