Suspect Accused Of Robbing Elderly Woman Arrested

Update:
The suspect responsible for battering and robbing an 86-year-old woman has been identified as Labrente Noel (21) of Lafayette. He was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery, 2nd Degree Battery, 3-counts Auto Theft, and Violence against a person 65-years or older.

On Thursday, December 31, 2009, the victim was on her back patio (516 Center Street) when approached by an unidentified black male, 20-30 years of age, asking for a trash bag. The victim entered her residence to get a bag for the suspect and he followed. Once inside, the suspect produced a handgun and demanded money and car keys. During the incident the suspect battered the victim causing moderate to severe injuries. The suspect fled the residence stealing the victims 2002 white Buick Lesabre. Patrol officers located the vehicle on January 1, 2010, at Holy Family Apartments.
