Surveillance: Robbery suspect sought in Moss Bluff

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a woman seen on surveillance robbing a Moss Bluff convenience store early Monday morning, according to police.

On February 24, at 1:45 a.m., a woman entered the Five-Star convenience store, 2577 Highway 171 North, brandishing a handgun, demanded the clerk's cell phone, and forced her into the store restroom, according to deputies.  Once the clerk was inside the restroom, the suspect allegedly pushed a cabinet down in front of the restroom door in an attempt to lock the clerk inside.

Police say after stealing an undisclosed amount of money, the woman fled the store.

The Sheriff's Office conducted an extensive search of the area, but was unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white woman between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 5'6", with dirty blonde hair pulled through the back of a purple and gold LSU hat. She was wearing dark sunglasses, a blue jean jacket and socks covering her hands.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance in identifying this woman. If anyone knows anything about this robbery or can identify this woman, please call CPSO at 491-3605 or Crime Stoppers at 439-2222.
