The Louisiana Supreme Court has denied an appeal filed by some Opelousas city workers whose job statuses were in question.
Last February, a state district court judge ruled that some city employees not classified as civil service fall under civil service classification. Last year, Mayor Don Cravins told KATC that 90% of the positions affected were created by the city's board of aldermen.
When contacted today, Cravins declined comment, saying he had not yet been notified of the decision by the city's attorney.
