It's hard to believe that this time last year Louisiana was starting to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac, and even tougher to believe that it has been eight long years since Hurricane Katrina. Anybody living along the Gulf Coast at the time has there Hurricane Katrina stories, and along the coast evidence of the storm can still be found.
Yet here we are, in late August and the tropics have luckily been very quiet and the weather heading into the weekend is looking great. Sunshine will prevail for the next several days as dry air continues to call south Louisiana home (how often do you get to read that statement).
Temperatures will crawl upwards under the ridge, so expect mid 90s to wrap up the work week and to start the weekend. With the drier air in place evenings will be close to comfortable with lows staying fairly consistant in the low 70s for days. In fact it may not even be until mid week next week until we talk decent rain chances again.
Without clouds to break it up, the sun will be in full force this weekend, so it is a good time to remind everyone not to slack off on being diligent with sunscreen, even if September is right around the corner.
As many of you may know college football returns this weekend, and as a big fan of the sport I couldn't be happier. Anyone else who feels the same and is looking forward to firing up the grill and tailgating this weekend, the weather will be on your side.
