Sunset mother charged with trying to kill her three children

A Sunset mother is accused of trying to drown her three children, according to Sunset Police Cheif Alexcie Guillory Sr. Hailey Schramm, 31, is charged with attempted second degree murder. An investigation started December 10, 2011 after police were called to the Sunset Library where an employee told police Schramm, who was there with her three children, said she had suicidal thoughts.
Schramm was then evaluated at a hospital and told hospital staff she tried drowning her children the night before, Guillory said. "Mrs. Schramm was transported to Compass Hospital in Kaplan and the children were taken into the custody of the state by Child Protection." An investigation revealed enough evidence to charge Schramm with three counts of attempted second degree murder. She was arrested today and booked into the Sunset Police Department Jail then transported to the St Landry Parish Jail.
