A cool and dry pattern will dominate across the region through the weekend with a series of cool fronts passing through Acadiana.
After a relatively mild Wednesday, a dry cool front will bring increasing winds and a reinforcement of cool air Thursday & Friday.
Yet another front will arrive this weekend bringing a winter chill to Acadiana and the possibility of frosty and/or a light freeze by Sunday morning.
Look for highs in the upper 60s Wednesday to drop into the upper 50s Thursday and Friday and the mid-50s this weekend.
Lows will be in the lower 40s through Thursday morning, dropping into the upper 30s Friday and Saturday mornings. Temperatures should be near 32-33F Sunday morning.
Milder temperatures will return quickly early next week.
Interestingly enough, Lafayette has recorded only 3 light freezes this winter, and they were all in December, making the potential freeze Sunday morning as the first one in two months...and it could be the last of the winter!
