LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - McNeese State University will play host to students and faculty from its fellow University of Louisiana System institutions later this week when the system holds its first Academic Summit.

It takes place Thursday and Friday at the Lake Charles campus. It will feature presentations on the subject of service-learning - the practice of integrating community service with instruction.

Another highlight will be a display of student art. The juried exhibition will include 32 pieces selected from among more than 400 entries of student art.

The UL system includes McNeese, the University of New Orleans, Southeastern Louisiana, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Grambling State, Louisiana Tech and UL campuses in Monroe and Lafayette.
