Hot and humid! That's going to be the headline in weather for the next several days as high pressure takes control. There will still be a chance for a few widely scattered storms popping up in the afternoon, but the chances will be fairly low in the 20-30% range. Temperatures are starting in the mid to upper 70s again today. Expect highs in the low to mid 90s later this afternoon.
The summer weather is expected to last through the weekend, so if the kids want to get in a few last days at the pool before school starts, this is the week to go! Still no 95 here in Lafayette this summer officially, but we'll be close over the next few days. In recent memory, the last time we went this long without at 95 degree high was 2003 where we waited until August 17th and only hit 95+ twice that summer!
Tropical Storm Bertha continues to rapidly move out to sea. Winds are 50mph and she should fizzle out over the next two days.
