The Hilliard University Art Museum is pleased to announce its featured summer exhibit The New Art of the Loom: International Contemporary Tapestries. This exhibit. reveals the woven dreams of artists from 18 countries who combine the ancient craft of weaving with artistic expressions of today, resulting in a display of visually captivating and thought-provoking murals. The exhibit will consist of 25 tapestries, one of which was woven by curator, Mr. Dirk Holger.

Tapestry artist Jean Lurçat (1892 - 1966) said: "Tapestry is the dream we hang on our walls." This renowned, yet long unrecognized art form is re-emerging not only for its decorative and architectural purposes, but also in response to the brilliantly crafted work of a new generation of artists.
