SULPHUR, La. (AP) - Sulphur Parks and Recreation Director Norman Farr says the city's newest park should be completed by Dec. 1.

The Grove at Heritage Square will be a pedestrian park. The American Press reports - unlike the city's other parks - it won't have playground equipment or ball fields.

Instead it will have walking paths, three water fountains and wireless Internet. It will tie into the Henning House, Brimstone Museum and the pavilion.

Farr said at a groundbreaking last week that heavy construction would soon begin.

Farr says it took nine property purchases over the past decade to acquire the land for the park. It is named for a grove of pecan trees on the property.
