Sulphur man accused of cruelty to a juvenile for 2nd time

A Sulphur man is accused of cruelty to a juvenile for the second time in little over a year.

CPSO deputies responded to a complaint from the Department of Children and Family Services regarding Brandon L. Sullivan, 32, physically abusing a 9-year-old child.

According to deputies, Sullivan struck the kid with his hand, causing numerous bruises on his lower back and buttocks. When questioned by detectives, Sullivan confirmed the allegations. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and released on a $2,000 bond set by Judge Wilford Carter.

Sullivan was previously arrested on September 6, 2012, after an investigation revealed he allegedly used duct tape to tie up a 6-year-old family member's hands, wrists, ankles, and also put duct tape around the victim's head. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile and released on a $3,500 bond set by Judge Wilford Carter on January 16, 2013.
