A free seminar titled "Subcontracting - Military Housing" will be offered from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Louisiana State University AgCenter, 1006 S. Lake Arthur Ave., in Jennings.
Gary Bertrand, Corvias Military Living director of small business and subcontractor recruitment, will present an overview of military housing operations at Fort Polk and six other operational locations in the United States run by Corvias. Other topics will include subcontractor pre-qualification requirements, subcontractor bidding process and a Q&A period.
Local small businesses are being sought for ongoing property management capabilities to include such areas as electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing and roofing. Corvias has similar contracts at a number of other installations, and once a company is pre-qualified as one of its potential subcontractors, that company will have the choice of bidding on one, any or for all of its contracted military housing operations and maintenance installations.
This seminar is presented by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at McNeese, Jeff Davis Business Alliance, Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance and SCORE SWLA Chapter.
July 10 is the deadline and pre-registration is required. For more information, contact the LSBDC at McNeese at 337-475-5529 or to register email Peggy Sammons at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-800-206-3545.
