Knives were found on two students at Alice Boucher Elementary this morning, according to Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton. The two boys are under the age of 11 and each brought a knife on campus, he said. The knives were pocket knives with a two-inch blade. Fourth and fifth graders were searched to ensure no other weapons were on campus, Lafayette Parish School Board spokesperson Angela Morrison said. Mouton said a child alerted the administration that the students might bring knives to school today after words were exchanged between students at school yesterday.
