The 13-year-old Southeast Middle School student arrested in May for allegedly bringing a loaded, high-powered rifle onto campus has pleaded guilty too possession of a firearm on school property.

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore III said a sentencing hearing for Anthony Haynes is set for Dec. 4.

Moore told The Advocate of Baton Rouge that the boy could face up to five years in juvenile detention.

Authorities said Haynes, a seventh-grader at Southeast Middle, was arrested May 6 for allegedly sneaking a loaded, high-powered rifle onto campus in a duffle bag and stashing it in a locker.
