Student Dies During Homecoming Hayride

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - State police say a Nicholls State University student died when he fell from the front of a fraternity's homecoming hayride trailer and was run over.
Master Trooper Bryan Zeringue (zuh-RANG') identifies the victim as 19-year-old Nathan Trepagnier (treh-pan-yay) of New Orleans.
He says 42-year-old Eric Zeringue of Schriever drove the pickup pulling the trailer Saturday afternoon, but did not realize that Trapagnier had fallen.
Trooper Zeringue says the driver's breath test did not show any alcohol.
He says the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office does not yet have results of Trepagnier's blood tests.
Troopers have not cited anyone but are continuing their investigation.
