Federal investigators conducted a sting at a Carencro strip club, Desperados Cabaret, Wednesday afternoon. Several suspects were taken into custody, and after an eventful day, the club was quiet and locked up Wednesday evening.

It all went down around 1:30pm Wednesday, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies blocked off the frontage road near Desperados for hours. Authorities didn't want anyone getting anywhere near the night club while a federal investigation took place.

The U.S. Attorney's Office had not released any information about the sting operation or what kind of investigation took place there by Wednesday evening. However the DEA, the Drug Enforcement Agency was present at the investigation and there also appeared to be drug dogs in the parking lot. Several people were also brought out in handcuffs outside of Desperados.

After authorities cleared out around 5:00pm, a few cars remained in the parking lot but the front door to Desperados was locked. KATC is told that this is a federal investigation, no local agencies are involved. They were only at the scene to block roads and offer assistance.
