Showers and thunderstorms will be likely for Acadiana Sunday afternoon/evening. The Storm Prediction Center has all of Acadiana hatched in for a slight risk of severe storms through pre-dawn Monday.

The main mode of any severe storms would be the possibility of damaging winds although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

A good soaking is expected with general rain totals an inch or two through Sunday night. Localized street flooding may become an issue in a few spots.

Activity will become more scattered in nature during the evening and overnight hours.

Lingering clouds early Monday will yield afternoon sun and seasonably mild conditions with highs in the low-mid 70s. It will be cooler Monday night, but highs in the 70s are expected through Thursday.

Another chance of rain and storms will be likely by late Wednesday/early Thursday with seasonably chilly weather to return for Friday and Saturday.
