A strong storm system moving across the Midwest will drag a cold front through the region later tonight and early Thursday bringing rain, storms, and possibly severe weather.
Winds have been gusty since Tuesday morning and some winds were gusting over 45mph Tuesday afternoon. A wind advisory remains in effect today. Also those southerly winds continue to pile water along the coastline elevating tides. Coastal flood advisories are in place again today as water could be 1-2 feet above normal during high tide.
The cold front is expected to dive into the area later tonight and early Thursday bringing rain and storms. 1-2 inches of rain will be possible overnight. Damaging winds and possibly hail could accompany those storms. Rains should end Thursday morning with some clearing expected Thursday afternoon. This weekend looks good with highs in the 70s under mostly sunny skies.
