An upper level disturbance traveling southeastward from Texas to Louisiana Friday will keep the chance of showers and storms overnight across Acadiana into Friday.
Some strong storms will be possible with a few cells capable of producing small hail and/or locally damaging winds. The greatest risk of any severe weather should be during the overnight/wee morning hours of Friday.
Activity Friday should remain on a scattered basis with rain chances in the vicinity of the 50-60% range.
Weak high pressure ridging will develop across Acadiana this weekend limiting shower and thunderstorm activity to 20% or less.
Otherwise expect hot and humid conditions through the weekend and likely much of next week.
Rain chances will stay in the 20% range or less through next week.
Look for daytime highs to be closer to the upper 80s Friday, near 90 this weekend and lower 90s all of next week.
Overnight lows will stay in the sticky low-mid 70s over the next week.
