An upper level low pressure area over the mid part of the country and a weakening front will provide us with a much better chance for rain and storms today with some locally heavy rain possible. Disturbances aloft will continue to keep the showers and thunderstorms going through this evening.
Already numerous showers and storms have developed and are moving toward the area. Some small hail is possible, but most of the storms will remain below the severe threshold today. Expect between one and two inches of rain to come down during the day today. Most of the rain will occur this morning through this afternoon.
Rains will gradually end this evening and skies will become fair. Temperatures will remain warm and muggy with lows in the 70s. The region will be under a more stable air mass tomorrow, so less rain and more sunshine with temperatures approaching 90 again. A few scattered storms are possible each day through Friday.
