Showers and storms will be likely ahead of a cool front that will push through Acadiana between 3am and 8am Tuesday.
Some storms may potentially be strong with a slight risk of a few isolated severe cells mainly in northern portions of Acadiana.
The greatest risk of any severe weather should it materialize, would be in the form of hail up to quarter size and the possibility of damaging winds thanks to some wind shear aloft and surface instability.
Storms will clear the area around daybreak or shortly thereafter with breezy and cooler conditions moving back into the area fore a few days.
Skies should clear Tuesday afternoon with sunny and cool days on tap through Thursday. Look for lows to drop back into the low-mid 40s for Wednesday and Thursday morning with highs Tuesday and Wednesday in the low-mid 60s.
Another weather system could bring showers and perhaps a few storms back to Acadiana by Friday.
