The system that we have been keeping an eye on these passed few days has slowed and the timing seems to have the stronger storms arriving Thursday morning.
Showers will be scattered from around midnight all the way through sunrise Thursday, when the rainfall will pick up. The more severe weather seems to be further to our north, but don't rule out the possibility of a few isolated thunderstorms becoming severe.
The main threat for Acadiana will be strong, gusty winds around the storms and the possibility of some hail. They system will bring with in 1-2" of rainfall which will add to already soaked rain totals for not just April but the year as a whole.
This front does clear out by Thursday afternoon so the end of the work week isn't looking too bad at all, and neither is the beginning of the weekend. By Sunday, however, we may see a return of some light showers in the afternoon.
