A Morgan City school was put on lockdown this morning following an armed robbery at a nearby business. Officers say three men robbed the El Ranchito Market at the corner of Business Highway 182 and Roderick Street. Investigators say three men broke in through the back door and forced the owner into a cooler at gunpoint. They say one shot was fired, and the victim was grazed by the bullet. The victim was also hit in the head with a bottle. He was treated at a local hospital and released. Wyandotte Elementary School was put on lockdown for nearly 90 minutes as a precaution.

The suspects were seen driving a blue, green, or teal minivan with a gold or yellow license plate with the number FTP4497. If you have any information about this incident, call Morgan City police at 985-380-4605.
