Acadiana can expect very hot conditions into this weekend with highs topping out in the mid-90s.
Rain chances will remain quite slight, although a tail end of a weakening frontal trough approaching from the northeast may allow for a few widely scattered showers/storms for Friday afternoon/evening.
The effects of this trough will be short-lived with rain chances through the weekend staying closer to the 10% range.
A slightly better flow of tropical moisture should funnel into the area next week which should engender a more tropical atmosphere, which in turn will produce a few more afternoon showers and/or thundershowers.
Temperatures next week will stay hot, but should trend closer to the lower 90s.
