BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana gambling regulators are taking
applications for the state's last riverboat casino license.
State law limits the number of casino riverboats to 15. The
license came open when Las Vegas-based Pinnacle Entertaiment Inc.
scrapped plans for a second casino-hotel project in Lake Charles
and returned the license to the state.
Louisiana Gaming Control Board Chairman Dane Morgan said
Wednesday that the board decided to open a formal application
period that ends Sept. 23. That came after the board received
expression of interest from three possible operators.
