State tax refund status can be checked online

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Louisiana Department of Revenue says taxpayers can check the status of their state individual income tax refunds online.
The Where's My Refund webpage is: www.revenue.louisiana.gov/refund
Secretary of Revenue Cynthia Bridges says that site gives instant answers about refunds and can be especially helpful during tax filing season since her office handles an extremely high call volume.
The department says if taxes were filed electronically, information on your refund should be available in 7-10 business days. If a paper return was used, officials say allow 12 to 16 weeks before checking a refund status.
