State offers counseling to counter flood stress

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - State officials say free confidential counseling is available to Louisiana residents who are suffering stress, anxiety or depression as a result of Mississippi River
flooding.
A 24-hour crisis hotline has been established to connect residents with services in their community. Counselors available through the hotline will offer help to those suffering emotional distress. They also will be able to offer information and coping
tips on identifying and dealing with signs of serious stress.
Referral to mental health services also will be available.
The toll- free number is 866-310-7977.
