The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) Crisis Action Team (CAT) is monitoring Tropical Storm Debby in the Gulf of Mexico. The final path of the storm is uncertain, but a tropical storm warning is in effect for a portion of the Louisiana coast.

GOHSEP Director Kevin Davis said, "While the path of the storm is uncertain, there is still a warning in effect for our coast. That's why it's important for Louisianians to monitor the weather and ensure their families are prepared with a game plan. State agencies are closely monitoring the storm and we are in constant communication with coastal parish officials. We will be ready to provide assistance if requested. We know how quickly forecasts can change and that's why we're encouraging everyone to pay attention to news reports and announcements from local officials."
