BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - About $88 million expected for this year's state budget hasn't been received yet by the treasurer's office for spending.

That was the latest assessment outlined Friday to lawmakers on the joint House and Senate budget committee who have expressed concerns the state will have another shortfall before the fiscal year ends June 30.

Barry Dusse is director of the governor's Office of Planning and Budget. He told lawmakers that of the $88 million that hasn't yet shown up in the state treasury, the Jindal administration expects all of it to materialize before year's end.

Lawmakers questioned, however, whether a set of legal settlements with insurance companies expected to generate $56 million will be wrapped up in time for the money to be spent this year.
