STAR readers rewarded at Mermentau Elem.

Today, Mermentau Elementary is rewarding their A.R. (Accelerated Readers) STAR students with a water slide.

Each nine weeks students have to read books and take comprehension tests to earn points and reach a set goal for their grade level to attain STAR reader level.

The school, a campus of only 150 students, has 58 STAR Readers. The STAR readers have read a total of about 6,500 books this year.
