A standoff in the 100 block of Staten Street off of Williow in Upper Lafayette has ended peacefully.
Around 7pm Monday night, 2 females approached another female at O'Riley Autoparts located at 1010 N. University Avenue and an argument erupted. The two female suspects struck the victim over the head with an unknown object, and stole the victim's purse. The suspects then entered a vehicle and fled the scene to a house in the 100 block of Staten Street. The victim pursued the suspects to the home, but the suspects exited the vehicle and barricaded themselves inside the residence. Shortly after, the Lafayette Police Department provided a perimeter around the home and after brief negotiations one female suspect, Fianna Cormier exited the home and turned herself into LPD. The second female suspect, Tiona Angelle refused to exit and around 1:00am Tuesday morning, the SWAT Team deployed, entering the home taking her into custody.
Both Fianna Cormier and Tiona Angelle are charged with armed robbery. A third suspect, a male, fled the scene on foot but later turned himself into the Lafayette Police Department. He is currently being questioned by investigators and has not been charged.
