St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Press Release Date: November 17, 2009
According to Sheriff David Naquin during the 24 hour period the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints over the past period and reports the following arrests:
Nannette Landry, age 50 of 3765 5th street Berwick, La was arrested on 11-16-09 at 736pm and charged with domestic abuse battery after deputies responded to a disturbance complaint on hwy 182 in Patterson where she was observed by deputies committing a battery on another subject. She was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.
Francisco Ortega age 25 of 719 cypress street Amelia, La was arrested on 11-16-09 at 1023pm and charged with Aggravated Battery, Reckless Operation and Criminal Damage to Property. Deputies responded to Clines Lane in Amelia reference to a disorderly subject driving reckless. When residents in the area tried to talk to the suspect he stabbed one of them in the stomach and then drove into the hitch part of a trailer causing damage. Francisco was apprehended while investigating the case and transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration. No report on medical condition of victim at this time.
Andrew Goodwin, age 19 of 1921 Green st Jeanerette, La was arrested on 11-17-09 at 257am on warrants for Failure to appear in court and bench warrant for speeding. He was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.
Sonya Giddens age 34 of 2169 River Road Berwick, La was arrested on 11-16-09 at 1008am on warrants for Issuing Worthless Checks. She was released on summons to appear in court.
Ranetta Hawkins Clark age 46 of 456 Verdun Lane Franklin, La was arrested on 11-16-09 at 1121am on warrants for Failure to appear in court for Issuing worthless checks and Disturbing the Peace. She was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.
Juvenile arrest for Domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property and possession of tobacco under 18. On 11-16-09 at 119pm deputies were called to a residence on parish road 131 Centerville, La. Upon arrival the juvenile was being uncooperative and was placed under arrest. Tobacco was located on his person. Juvenile had committed a battery on his mother and damaged a window on a vehicle. Pending juvenile court action.
Danell Daigle, ag 35 female, was arrested on 11-16-09 at 301pm of 173 Oxford Loop Franklin, La on warrants for Issuing worthless checks and failure to appear for issuing worthless checks. She was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.
