St. Mary Sheriff's Arrest Report: Feb. 22, 2010

According to Sheriff David Naquin during the last 72 hours the Sheriff's Office responded to 96 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Shauda C. Williams 23 yoa of St. Joseph Lane, Franklin, Brittney D. Williams 21 yoa of Easy St., Franklin and Brittney N. Mitchell 21 yoa of St. Joseph Lane, Franklin were arrested on 2-19-2010 at 3:35 pm for Theft by Shoplifting with Mitchell also being charged with a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Disturbing the Peace by Fighting. Deputy was called to Wal-mart in Bayou Vista in reference to shoplifters. Upon deputy's arrival store security advised that above suspects were observed taking clothes and placing them in a diaper bag and a black purse. During investigation it was also learned of a warrant for Mitchell's arrest. After investigation suspects were placed under arrest with Brittney and Shauda Williams being issued a summons to appear in court on 5-5-2010 and Mitchell being booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Jose Gaytan Rendon 28 yoa of Trevino St., Berwick was arrested on 2-19-2010 at 5:07 pm for Speeding and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Lawful Presence in the United States. Deputy was patrolling Hwy 182 in the Amelia area, when he conducted a traffic stop on above suspect vehicle for speeding. During investigation it was also learned that suspect was driving illegally in the United States. Suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.

Dustin Liles 18 yoa of Fourth St., Morgan City was arrested on 2-19-2010 at 7:51 pm for Simple Assault and Criminal Trespass. Deputy was called to Lagonda Road
in Bayou Vista in reference a fight. Upon Deputy's arrival in the area he was flagged down and advised of a subject bleeding on Cross Road # 2. Deputy located suspect and conducted an investigation. During investigation it was learned that above suspect was involved in an altercation with another subject on Lagonda Road. Liles was transported by Acadian Ambulance to TecheRegionalHospital for treatment and was later released. Deputy then located the other subject involved in the altercation and conducted an investigation. It was learned from the other subject and witnesses that Liles came to his residence on Lagonda and confronted him, when subject asked him to leave Liles then proceeded towards subject swinging his arms and a confrontation occurred. After investigation above suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $1250.00 bond and was later released.

Rudolph Edwards 55 yoa of James St., Morgan City was arrested on 2-19-2010 at 10:37 pm for Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated. Deputy was called to Lake Palourde Road
in Amelia in reference to a subject lying in the roadway. Upon Deputy's arrival above suspect was located lying partially in the roadway with his bike. Upon deputy making contact with suspect a strong odor of alcohol was observed upon his person. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $250.00 bond at this time.

James A. Huerta 31 yoa of Main St, Grand Junction, Colorado was arrested on 2-20-2010 at 2:14 pm for Driving Under Suspension. Deputy was called to Polaris St
in Bayou Vista in reference to a suspicious person. Upon Deputy's arrival Deputy was speaking with a subject who advised that he was selling cleaning supplies. During investigation above suspect drove up to the area to pick up the other subject. Upon deputy speaking with above suspect it was learned that he was driving under suspension. Suspect was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in court on 5-5-2010.

Willie J. Vallet Jr. 42 yoa of Ridgeview Dr., Sachse, Texas was arrested on 2-20-2010 at 9:18 pm for DWI 2nd, Speeding, Resisting an Officer by Flight, Careless Operation, Public Intimidation and Open Alcoholic container. Deputy was patrolling Hwy 182 in the Ricohoc area, when he observed above suspect vehicle speeding and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Suspect vehicle refused to stop until he drove the vehicle into a driveway on Verdun Lane. Upon Deputy coming into contact with suspect he was observed to have a strong odor of alcohol upon his person. During investigation an open alcoholic container was located in the vehicle he was driving. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Franklin Police Department where he refused to take the Intoxilyzer 5000 test. Suspect was booked into the parish jail with a $4300.00 bond and was later released.

Brittney Fisher 19 yoa of Todd St., Berwick was arrested on 2-21-2010 at 6:32 pm for Theft by shoplifting and a warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Theft. Deputy was called to Wal-mart in Bayou Vista in reference to a shoplifter. Upon Deputy's arrival it was learned from store security that above suspect was observed placing items into her purse. During investigation it was also learned that suspect had a warrant for her arrest. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest and booked into the parish jail with a $1400.00 bond and was later released.

Da'Vanta J. Burden 17 yoa of Hwy 83, Franklin was arrested on 2-21-2010 at 9:28 pm for Aggravated Battery and Possession of Marijuana. Deputy was called to above location in reference to a disturbance. Upon Deputy's arrival above suspect was observed outside the residence yelling and causing a disturbance. Deputy advised the suspect to calm down while an investigation was conducted. During investigation it was learned from complainant and witness that she and suspect were arguing when suspect committed a battery upon her they began to fight and suspect grabbed a knife and was hitting her. Suspect also grabbed a vase and threw it at her causing her to receive a cut to her leg. After investigation suspect was placed under arrest at which time Deputy located a burnt marijuana cigarette on his person and was additionally charged. Suspect was booked into the parish jail with no bond at this time.
