According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 120 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Shay Cline, 20, 116 Robicheaux Lane, Centerville, LA was arrested on October 26, 2012 at 12:50 pm at the SMPSO in Franklin for entering contraband into a penal institution and malfeasance in office. This arrest is the result of an investigation into a deputy suspected of bringing contraband into the jail and giving the items to inmates. During the course of an investigation a detective discovered that Cline brought items of contraband into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Among the items of contraband were tobacco and lighters. Cline was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was later transferred to another jail facility. His bond is set at $20,000. No further details are available at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
Phillip Patterson, 40, 212 Easy Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 26, 2012 at 6:04 pm on Irish Bend Road in Franklin on a warrant for theft and criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person. Upon arrival the deputy observed a subject running across Irish Bend Road, through a church parking lot, and into a wooded area. With the help of bystanders in the area the deputy was able to locate the subject later identified as Patterson. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned of the warrant for Patterson's arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into a theft of cash from a residence in Franklin. Patterson was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. His bond is set at $2,000.
John Buck, Jr., 22, 266 Ricohoc Driver, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 27, 2012 at 3:25 am on Highway 182 in Amelia, LA for simple battery and disturbing the peace. A deputy responding to a complaint of a subject causing a disturbance learned from a witness that Buck punched the victim in the jaw. Buck was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released after posting $750 bond.
Lisa Aucoin, 53, 131 Main Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 28, 2012 at 12:15 am at Teche Regional Medical Center on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of resisting an officer and simple battery. A deputy investigating a complaint of a suspicious person near the Hwy. 182 bridge in Amelia came into contact with Aucoin. Aucoin told the deputy that she was injured. Aucoin was then transported to the hospital by Acadian Ambulance for treatment. During the investigation the deputy learned that Aucoin was wanted on a warrant. After being treated and released, Aucoin was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Her bond is set at $400.
