According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 47 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Joel M. Floyd, III, 24, 1117 Cross Road #2, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 16, 2013 at 9:35 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to have commercial license in possession. A deputy responded to a report of a stalled vehicle on the crest of the Highway 90 bridge in Morgan City. While assisting the motorist, identified as Floyd, the deputy learned of the warrant for his arrest. Floyd was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $5,000.
William Claussen, 29, 809 B Cleco Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 17, 2013 at 3:19 am for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance in the parking lot of a business in Verdunville. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a male subject sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle. The deputy made contact with the subject, identified as Claussen, and smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. Also, Claussen had difficulty standing and swayed from side to side. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Claussen was repeatedly setting off his vehicle's alarm and spinning the vehicles tires in the parking lot causing a disturbance. Claussen was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.
