According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 40 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Ricky Tate, Jr., 31, 4685 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on October 29, 2013 at 10:50 am on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen property. He was released on $10,000 bail. Detectives investigating two business burglaries executed a search warrant at Tate's residence. During the search, detectives located items that had been reported stolen linking Tate to the crimes. This is the third arrest made in this investigation. Scott Carter was arrested on October 19, 2013 and Sky M. Leger was taken into custody on October 22, 2013.
Ciera Thomas, 24, 104 Judy Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 29, 2013 at 12:15 pm on a warrant for theft of goods. Thomas turned herself in at the ST. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
Keith Tillman, 17, 108 Patty Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 29, 2013 at 12:27 pm for theft of goods and simple batter. Additional information regarding this arrest may be found in the release sent out Tuesday afternoon (October 29, 2013).
Dionne M. Hoj, 46, 1117 4th Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 29, 2013 at 4:39 pm for theft of goods.
Tyler Lantier, 20, 1117 4th Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 29, 2013 at 4:39 pm for theft of goods.
A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Hoj and Lantier were seen concealing items in their purses before attempting to leave the store withpout paying for the items. Both women were released on summonses to appear in court on January 10, 2014.
Male juvenile, 16, Amelia, was arrested on October 29, 2013 at 7:02 pm for ungovernable juvenile. A deputy responded to a complaint of an ungovernable juvenile. While speaking with the juvenile, he became argumentative, refusing to go indoors for the evening. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Thomas Edgar Steely, Jr., 37, 1428 Front Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 29, 2013 on a warrant for probation violation and failure to appear for probation review. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista made contact with Steely and learned of the active warrants for his arrest. Steely was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Carl Beecher, 55, 190 Beadle Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on October 29, 2013 at 11:02 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of careless operation of a vehicle. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area made contact with Beecher who was walking on Highway 182. While speaking with Beecher, the deputy learned of the warrant for his arrest. Beecher was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $298.50.
