According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 35 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Carl Wardel Williams, 51, 2040 Melba Place, Marrero, LA was arrested on October 28, 2013 at 8:22 am for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. On October 23, 2013, St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle belonging to a business in Amelia that was being driven by an employee without permission. On October 28, 2013, Williams returned with the company truck. Following an investigation into his whereabouts during the week, deputies took Williams into custody on the above listed charge. Williams was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Dennis Dardar, 33, 148 Texas Gulf Road, Bourg, LA was arrested on October 28, 2013 at 4:47 pm for theft of goods and on warrants from the 32nd Judicial District for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods and probation violation.
Troy Lusco, 31, no address given, Houma, LA was arrested on October 28, 2013 at 4:47 pm for 2 counts theft of goods and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A deputy responding to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista received information that the suspects in the thefts had left the store. Using a description provided by the complainant, the deputy located the suspect vehicle in Morgan City and conducted a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation, the deputy found bags in the vehicle containing three bottles of alcohol and other items reported stolen from the store. The two occupants in the vehicle, identified as Dardar and Lusco, could be seen on video surveillance taking the items and placing them into store bags. Lusco also could be seen on video concealing items in his pants. The two then left the store without paying for the items which had a total value of just over $500. While conducting a search of Lusco, a deputy located a hypodermic needle and a burnt piece of aluminum can, items consistent with illegal drug use. Dardar and Lusco were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Eddie Ray Gray, 21, 1432 B. Hickory Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on October 28, 2013 at 6:59 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of simple criminal damage to property, remaining where forbidden, and improper child restraint. Gray turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville after learning of the warrant for his arrest. He was released on a $5000 bond.
April Johnson-Jacobs, 31, 498 Country Road 643, Quitman, MS was arrested on October 28, 2013 at 8:30 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Jacobs was seen taking items and then attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. Jacobs was released on a summons to appear on court on January 10, 2014.
Amanda Ross, 26, 1305 Burke Place, Morgan City, LA was arrested on October 28, 2013 at 11:45 pm on 3 warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court (contempt of court) and on a warrant from St. Martin Parish for failure to appear on the charge of reckless operation. A deputy was notified by Berwick Police that Ross turned herself in at Berwick Police Department on the active warrants. Ross was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
