St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 41 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Derrick C. Elair, 34, 1706 West Ibert Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 10:28 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, theft, simple criminal damage to property, and violation of a protective order. A deputy located Elair at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. Elair was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

John Finister, V, 23, 104 Chris Lane, Centerville, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 11:25 am for aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of weapons.

Jaquincey Mouton, 20, 409 9th Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 11:25 am for aggravated battery.

A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance on Chris Lane involving a weapon. While speaking with subjects at the scene, the deputy determined that Finister and Mouton were involved in a fistic encounter outside of Finister's residence. Following the fight, as Mouton and another female subject were walking away from the home when Finister fired a shotgun in their direction. Both Finister and Mouton were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Timothy Armond, Jr., 29, 1500 Chennault Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 10:56 am on a warrant for theft (over $500). A deputy located Armond at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1500 bond.

Dwight E. Williams, 27, 310 Second Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 11:02 am on warrants for failure to register as a sex offender and failure to notify law enforcement of a change of address as a sex offender. Williams was convicted in St. Mary Parish of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2006. Williams was already incarcerated at the parish jail on unrelated charges. No bond is set.

Terry Michael Vining, 54, 109 Cane Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 2:35 pm for simple burglary. A detective investigating a complaint of a vehicle burglary at the Berwick boat landing developed Vining as a suspect. While speaking with Vining about the incident, he admitted to burglarizing the vehicle. Vining was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

Tabitha Gros, 36, 109 Carter Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 4:25 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Gros was seen placing items in a bag before attempting to leave the store without paying for the goods. Gros was released on a summons to appear in court on December 11, 2013.

Juvenile male, 16, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 8:19 pm for ungovernable juvenile and resisting an officer.

Robert Gros, 43, 137 Nini Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on September 17, 2013 at 8:38 pm for battery of a police officer, resisting an officer with force or violence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule I (marijuana), and obstruction of justice.

A deputy responded to a complaint of a juvenile who had not returned home. The deputy located the juvenile at a residence in Bayou Vista. While inside the residence, the deputy saw a marijuana cigar in an ashtray and made contact with Gros. At that time, Gros attempted to eat the cigar. Gros then became physically combative toward the deputy. The deputy subdued Gros. During the subsequent investigation, more marijuana was located inside the residence along with items of drug paraphernalia. Gros was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. A picture of Gros is included.
