According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 51 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Cory Chapman, 48, 128 Oak Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 20, 2013 at 6:37 a, on a warrant for theft of goods. A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office deputy was notified by Morgan City Police that Chapman was incarcerated in the Morgan City jail on unrelated charges. Chapman was arrested on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's warrant and remains incarcerated at the Morgan City facility.\
Calvin Charles Mosely, 39, 110 Blair Drive, Houma, LA was arrested on June 20, 2013 at 12:40 pm for resisting an officer, no insurance, and expired vehicle inspection. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing that it had an expired inspection sticker. When the vehicle came to a stop just off of Lake Palourde Road, the driver got out of the vehicle and ran away from the deputy. While speaking with the passenger, the driver returned to the vehicle. The driver was identified as Mosely. Mosely was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1,500 bond.
Juvenile male, 16, Gibson was arrested on June 20, 2013 at 12:53 pm for runaway juvenile. While responding to an unrelated complaint, a deputy observed a juvenile attempting to hide behind a home in the Amelia area. The deputy recognized the juvenile as a teen who was reported to have run away from his home. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Bradley Wells, 20, Roderick Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 20, 2013 at 2:51 pm for theft. A deputy investigating a complaint of employee theft at an auto parts store in Bayou Vista determined that Wells took cash from the register. Wells was released on a summons to appear in court on September 3, 2013.
Albert Stansbury, 32, 214 Jeffery Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 20, 2013 at 4:46 pm for violation of the parish vicious animals ordinance. A deputy responded to a complaint in the Patterson area of a lose dog barking at a male subject who was walking in the neighborhood. Stansbury was released on a summons to appear in court on September 3, 2013.
