According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile male, 16, Charenton, LA was arrested on June 17, 2013 at 10:59 am for ungovernable juvenile. The runaway juvenile was located at another teenager's home. He was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Angel Luis Gonzales-Rivera, 36, 130 West Syls Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on June 17, 2013 at 1:06 pm for no driver's license, expired inspection sticker, and no insurance. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy met with the driver, identified as Gonzales-Rivera. While speaking with the driver, the deputy learned that he had no driver's license and that the vehicle was not insured. Gonzales-Rivera was released on a summons to appear in court on September 3, 2013.
Dean Beranek, 27, 117 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 17, 2013 at 4:18 pm for unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft from an auto body shop in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Beranek had removed his vehicle without paying for the work that had been done on it. The deputy located Baranek and escorted him back to the shop. During the subsequent investigation, Baranek attempted to take the truck and leave the shop. Baranek was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $4,000 bond.
Claiborne Joseph Fabre, Jr., 25, 130 Legnon Court, Bayou L'Ourse, LA was arrested on June 17, 2013 at 3:39 pm on a warrant for theft of a motor vehicle. Fabre was located at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City and arrested on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a vehicle that was stolen from a parking lot in Bayou Vista. The SMPSO received the complaint of the vehicle theft on June 12, 2013. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Fabre asked to borrow the keys to the vehicle in order to retrieve something from the vehicle. Fabre then drove the vehicle from the parking lot. Fabre was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
