According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Cherie LaShelle Tapia, 35, 303 Carol Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 12, 2013 at 10:50 am on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of probation. A deputy located Tapia at her residence on the warrant. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $20,000.
Gabrielle Derouen, 18, 118 Chris Lane Lot #8, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 12, 2013 at 2:26 pm on a warrant for simple criminal damage to property (over $1,500). Derouen came in to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to visit an offender. A deputy conducted a warrants check on Derouen and found that she was wanted on the active warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation that began on April 17, 2013 when a deputy responded to a complaint of property damage at a residence in Centerville. The deputy determined that two subjects had intentionally damaged a home before being evicted from the residence. This is the second arrest made in this case. Derouen was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
