According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the holiday weekend reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to...complaints and reports the following arrests:
Clarence Francois, III, 46, 102 Chestnut Drive Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 24, 2013 at 1:16 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic battery.
Stocie Smith, 35, 733 Utah Street Berwick, LA was arrested on May 24, 2013 at 1:16 pm on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen things.
Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division patrolling the Morgan City area observed the driver of a vehicle fail to signal a turn. Detectives conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Smith, and the passenger, identified as Francois. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that both Francois and Smith held active warrants. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set for Francois. Smith was released on a $10,000 bond.
The warrant for Smith stems from an investigation that began in November of 2011 when the SMPSO received a complaint of a stolen bulldozer from a rental company located in Morgan City. The piece of equipment was being rented to a client at the time of its disappearance. The bulldozer was located in Assumption Parish.
Courtney Junius Gauthier, 27, 206 Chauvin Drive Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 25, 2013 at 9:20 am for driving under suspension and carless operation of a vehicle. A deputy responded to a vehicle crash on Irish Bend Road. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Gauthier was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash and that he was driving with a suspended license. Gauthier was released on a summons to appear in court on August 23, 2013.
Wilson Anthonia Guerrero-Banegas, 31, 5047 Railroad Avenue Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 25, 2013 at 2:12 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in United States. A deputy responded to a report of a crash on private property on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Banegas dented an ice machine while backing up a vehicle in a parking lot. Banegas was also in the United States without the proper paperwork. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Danielle VanBrocklin, 26, 1021 James Street Franklin, LA was arrested on May 26, 2013 at 5:28 pm for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and criminal trespass. During the course of this investigation, the deputy learned that VanBrocklin entered a home on Evergreen Avenue without permission. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Emmanuel Lozano, 26, 49 Woodhollow Drive Brownsville, TX was arrested on May 26, 2013 at 9:36 pm for disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, and 2 counts of battery of a police officer.
Juan Raul Morales-Torres, 51, 12 Zaragoza Brownsville, TX was arrestedon May 26, 2013 at 10:01 pm for remaining where forbidden and disturbing the peace intoxicated.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at America's Best Value Inn in Amelia. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from a manager that Lozano and Torres were involved in an altercation. While investigating the complaint, Lozano was observed punching a police unit. During his arrest, Lozano also kicked a deputy. Both Lozano and Torres were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set for Lozano. Torres was released on a $750 bond.
Donovan Wayne Barrilleaux, 24, 129 Caleb Lane Franklin, LA was arrested on May 27, 2013 at 5:54 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of a shoplifter at Walmart on Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store security that Barrilleaux was observed putting on clothes from the clothing department and attempting to exit the store without paying for the items. Barrilleaux was released on a summons to appear in court on August 23, 2013.
Phillip Aucoin, 42, 213 Ford Industrial Road Amelia, LA was arrested on May 28, 2013 at 12:01 am on a warrant for theft. A deputy received information regarding the whereabouts of Aucoin. He was located at a residence on Grizzaffi Street in Berwick on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into the theft of approximately $500 in change that was taken from a residence in the Patterson area. Aucoin was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
