St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 123 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Roselyn Collins, 20, 109 Watson Lane Patterson, LA was arrested on April 26, 2013 at 12:05 am for domestic abuse battery and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal trespass.

James Murray, 25, 109 Watson Lane Patterson, LA was arrested on April 26, 2013 at 12:05 am for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the residence listed above. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Collins and Murray were involved in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical encounter. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Pernell Grason Smith, 27, 1205 James Street Siracusa, LA was arrested on April 28, 2013 at 7:47 am on a warrant for simple battery. A deputy located Smith at his residence on the warrant. Smith was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $500 bond.

Latosha Sophus, 36, 11213 East Admiral Doyle Drive Jeanerette, LA was arrested on April 28, 2013 on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of resisting a police officer and battery of a police officer. A deputy responded to a report of a subject walking on the side of the roadway on Highway 182 in the Baldwin area. The deputy made contact with Sophus who was wanted on the warrant. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Her bond is set at $10,000.

Freddie J. Alfred, 44, 313 Venus Road Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on April 28, 2013 at 10:01 pm for domestic abuse battery (strangulation) and aggravated assault. A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance involving a gun at a residence on Venus Road. Upon arrival, the deputy discovered that the victim and her two small children were able to escape the residence. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Alfred and the victim had been arguing when he threw the female victim to the ground and choked her to the point of unconsciousness. When the victim recovered consciousness, Alfred had a handgun and threatened to shoot her. Alfred was apprehended at the residence and transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.
